How to Hitch and Unhitch the e2 Hitch (2019 Edition)

Category Uncategorized

Our customer service department is often asked how to hitch and unhitch the e2 hitch. Use our instructions and infographic below as a quick and easy reference to have on hand when you’re hitching and unhitching your e2.

How to Unhitch Your e2 Hitch

1. Chock your trailer.

2. If you’ve come home from the RV dealership or from the campground, your weight distribution and sway control will be engaged.

3. Leave the tow vehicle and trailer connected.

4. Use the tongue jack to raise your tow vehicle and trailer up and take the weigh off the weigh distribution hitch.

5. Raise the jack to get the spring arm loose enough so that you can pull it off the L-bracket. Keep raising the jack until the bar is loose.

6. When you see the spring arm come loose, take out your L-pin, disengage the spring arm, and lower it back down. Do the same thing on the other side of the hitch.

7. Now that both spring arms are off the L-brackets, you need to lower the weight off the trailer back onto the hitch ball, so you can release the coupler.

8. Lower the trailer tongue until the latch releases. Now raise the trailer up off the hitch ball and you’re done.

How to Unhitch Your e2

1. Back your truck up to the trailer. Make sure the hitch ball is lined up under the coupler and the spring arms are in place.

2. Lower the weight of the tongue down onto the hitch ball far enough that you can couple the trailer latch.

3. Engage the coupler latch.

4. Raise the tongue of the trailer and the tow vehicle, lessen the distance between the end of the spring arm and the top of the L-bracket. Let the tongue jack lift the trailer for you.

5. Use the Snap-up Lever to lift the spring arm into place. Engage the L-pins and retract the jack to lower the weigh back down so you are ready to tow.
